SYSTEMS INTEGRATION
The Academy's Pillars in Practice
The 'Backpacking: Couch to 75K' program is an immersive, skills-based progression that incorporates all of the academy’s foundational systems. This is not a physical fitness program, but a rigorous technical training path. Completion of each core course unlocks eligibility for LANES-style scenario training where students test their navigation, medical response, and fieldcraft under professional supervision.
Trips progress systematically from a day hike to an overnight mission, culminating in a final 5-day, 46-mile scenario. Here, students apply their new skills in real-world conditions, ensuring graduates leave adequately prepared to manage most wilderness problems with clarity and competence.
